We offer a wide-ranging programme of high quality German language courses all year round (dates). Teaching Methods Working in small groups of mixed nationalities, you will experience a variety of teaching methods, in which cognitive, communicative, spontaneous and creative elements are combined. The ever increasing number of participants and the large percentage of students who return are proof of our teaching methods. Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced in teaching German as a foreign language and in working with adults. Our premises in the historic city centre are quiet, bright and well equipped. From the classrooms you can see one of Regensburg's landmarks, the Cathedral. Close by are many cafés and small restaurants where you can get light refreshment during breaks.

General Language Courses 20 classes per week (à 45 minutes)  This course is offered throughout the year at all levels. In order to make noticeable improvement, we would recommend a 4-week stay at least. However, you can opt to stay 2 or 3 weeks. The main goal of our classes is to improve your communication skills; this means that we will give you many opportunities to speak in class. We train your listening comprehension skills with special exercises and you will have the chance to improve your powers of expression in written German. Working in small groups (average 8, max. 12 people), you will quickly make progress in German.  Intensive courses 30 classes per week  We recommend this course for those who want to learn very quickly. It includes the General Language Course plus 10 classes per week in the afternoon on an individual or mini-group (max. 4 people) basis. In the afternoon classes you decide on the contents, topics and exercises and the teacher will be able to help you individually. Afternoon classes are so arranged (10 classes on 4 afternoons) that you can participate in the leisure programme. Leisure programme
We organise a wide-ranging leisure programme which will give you an understanding of German life and culture, because we would like you to get more than a tourist's view of Germany. We run the following activities on a regular basis: guided tours of Regensburg lectures on modern German literature showings of recent German films lectures on current political, social and cultural affairs lectures on German history visits to firms half-day and full-day excursions (approx. 20-30 DM) walking and cycling tours.

Accommodations

So that you may feel relaxed and at home in Regensburg, we take great care in choosing our student residences and host families, with whom we remain in constant contact. You have the choice of a single/double room with a family or in a residence where cooking facilities are available. You may use the university canteen where both midday and evening meals are very reasonably priced.

 

There is also a private residence in the city centre, 5 minutes walk from the school, which can only be booked with breakfast. Private accommodation is also available with bed and breakfast or half-board. Student residences and families are located in residential areas and not farther away than 20 minutes by bus or bike.
